Liebe Oma, das zweite Wort und schon das erste Schmunzeln. Ob Dein Vorname nun Alfreda oder Alfrieda lautete und in welchem Dokument welcher Name stand, werde ich wahrscheinlich nie verstehen. Für die meisten warst du einfach nur “s’ Alfredl”. Für meine Generation und sogar deine eigenen Kinder, warst du “die Oma”. Für die nächste Generation - deine Urenkel - warst Du schon zur “alten Oma” geworden. Ich glaube nicht, dass dein Leben leicht war. Von Deiner Kindheit und Jugend in Oberzell weiß ich kaum etwas. Ich kann nur erahnen, was die Kriegsjahre Euch abverlangt haben. Für die damalige Zeit wurdest du erst spät - mit mehr als 30 Jahren - Ehefrau und Mutter - und das auch noch am anderen Ende der Insel. Oft hast du erzählt, dass Deine Mutter zu deinen Plänen sagte: “Musch Du jetzt no in die Bradle?” Ich bin natürlich froh, dass Du diesen Weg gegangen bist. When I started blogging some time ago, it was mainly because I did not like the idea that only a certain group of people has access to what I am writing about. It is not that I am spreading world changing thoughts here. But I wanted to participate on what I understood as "the internet" - or "web 2.0" to be more precise. Something that everybody who wants to participate in, can do so - also knowing that everybody else on the internet can access it. With all pros and cons, this is what it is - or was - all about. Forget about my blog at this point, but think about Wikipedia. I am mentioning Wikipedia even though there are many limitations and hurdles. In its idea, it is a platform in which everybody can participate and everybody can access it. Still one of the most remarkable things the internet has brought up. The idea to participate in the Berlin Marathon came up together with the idea to move to the capital. So that must have been around April or May. I had not been running all winter long. Seriously, after the "3 Länder Marathon" in October last year, I did not want to run at all. Looking back, that was a traumatic experience. Not that the result would have been bad, not at all. The problem was, that I just wanted to run this 42k to "put a check on this". I was in quite good shape at that time, as I had trained for the 70.3 IronMan in Austria for quite a while. I just wanted to take advantage of this and then stop all of this endurance sports bull*. That's what I thought at that time. I made it, but it was a horrible race. Pouring rain, cold, wind - real pain was already starting at k25. That is too early! So I was fed up with running after that. For sure, I did not stop with sports. I swam a lot all winter through, went skiing, practice yoga. But no running.

Die einen Bands singen davon, dass sie eben nicht nach Berlin wollen. Andere Künstler beschreiben, dass der Wunsch nach in Hauptstadt zu ziehen doch nur ein Fieber sei. Wenn dem so ist, hat es mich voll erwischt. Wie lange der Fiebertraum anhält, wird sich zeigen. Zunächst ist nur ein halbes Jahr geplant. Der erste Eindruck ist jedoch, dass diese Zeit nicht annähernd ausreichen wird die Stadt kennenzulernen. Wahnsinns Stadt! Aber da spricht wahrscheinlich auch der Dörfler in mir. Und der werde ich am Ende dann bleiben. Wie sagt man so schön: "Du kriegst die Leute aus dem Dorf, das Dorf nicht aus den Leuten."
